KEREM MAKES SWEET MUSIC FOR MYISRAEL CHARITIES

Through ice-cream sales, weekly tzedaka, and bucket collections at the end of term concert, Kerem students raised funds for RE-SPECS, a Myisrael project which collects used frames and recycles them to provide prescription glasses to families in financial distress.

Through ice-cream sales, weekly tzedaka, and bucket collections at the end of term concert, Kerem students raised funds for RE-SPECS, a charity which collects used frames and recycles them to provide prescription glasses to families in financial distress.  A separate concert featuring the combined talents of Kerem’s orchestra and choir raised money for Musicians of Tomorrow, a project for musically gifted children from poor and secluded areas in the North of Israel. This unique initiative nurtures the children’s talents and helps build their confidence and self-esteem. Year 1 teacher Mrs. Borman commented: “We are extremely proud of the children at Kerem School in the way they demonstrate their caring and thoughtful attitude towards those who are less fortunate than themselves. The School Council carefully researched which charities to support and organised a vote throughout the whole school. They chose Myisrael as it supports small and lesser known charities, and the children worked enthusiastically and derived much pleasure in raising such a large amount.” Danni Franks, Founder and CEO of Myisrael, commented: “Thank you to Kerem’s students for raising such a fantastic amount for these two brilliant charities. They should feel very proud that their efforts are helping to transform the lives of vulnerable children in Israel.”
