Maccabi Community Fun Run 11th June 2017

The sun shone brightly for our 50 runners at this year’s Community Fun Run as they walked, jogged and sprinted their way around Allianz Park. Taking on the 1KM, 5KM or 10KM challenges, they did us proud raising over £3,500 for Myisrael’s charities.

One of Myisrael’s Barmitzvah boys, Gal Gazit, took on the tri-run, completing all 3 distances and raising over £300. 9-year-old Ella Ben-Ezra took part in the 1K and went door to door asking friends and neighbours for sponsorship, raising over £200.

She told us, “I really enjoyed when I ran 1km. I felt that running for this charity is an important thing for me to do since my friend and I are collecting money for Tzedaka. I had a yummy crepe and even danced Israeli dances”

8 years old Noa Fetterman, heard about Myisrael in her school Alma primary and decided to run the 1km with her younger sister and support us.

Throughout the event, Myisrael’s stall was packed with guests sampling our delicious popcorn and trying to guess how many sweets were in the sweetie jar. Ruby Samuels aged 9 did a brilliant job of almost guessing the exact number and will be enjoying her 206 sweets for the foreseeable future!
