other ways to get involved

from the uk:
we want to encourage our donors and supporters to get further involved with my israel and its projects. It can be a really rewarding experience and lots of fun and it feels good to know that you are making an even bigger difference.

there are many things that you can do to help from the uk such as:

• form a charity committee and raise money through fundraising events for a specific project or for the my israel general fund
• create your own sponsored event at school or with your friends
• if you have an apartment in jerusalem, you could offer it for use by some of the visiting dentists from the uk, canada and the usa who need a place to stay whilst volunteering at the ‘dental volunteers for israel’ clinic.
• nominate my israel as your chosen charity when celebrating a special occasion and ask that your friends and family donate to this cause instead of buying personal gifts
• collect items such as books, games and toiletries and send them to israel with someone who is coming for a visit
• request some flyers which explain what we do and ask your local shops and businesses to display them on their counter
• tell your friends and family about my israel and encourage them to visit www.myisraelcharity.org to make a donation

in israel:
you can also get more involved when you are visiting israel. this will need to be arranged with us in advance, but can be a really uplifting experience. some ideas include:

• visiting a project to see what it does and the impact that it has on those that it helps (needs to be pre-arranged)
• meeting with one of our project directors to hear the fascinating story of how their project started (this must be pre-arranged)
• volunteering a few hours or a day to a project that interests you
• bringing toiletries, books and games with you on holiday and distributing them to one of our children's homes, youth centres or elderly social clubs
• if you are a dentist, you could donate your professional skills at the clinic of the dental volunteers for israel, in jerusalem (this must be planned well in advance in order to get the correct license)
