Israeli dancing, food and wine
| Location: | Finchley, London |
On 29th November 2009, myisrael held its first Israeli dancing evening. More than 100 people attended in a celebration of Israeli dancing, food and music.
The sensational food was provided by caterer Mimi Greenberg and served by her team of delightful volunteer staff. Attendees enjoyed mini pita and falafel, shakshuka, Israeli salad and more. Deserts included mouth-watering baklava, mini cheesecake and honey cake.
The Israeli dancing was brilliantly led by Susie Knoller who had participants twirling around the dance floor, waving the arms around and yelling 'myisrael' in time to the music.
There was also an amazing solo performance on the accordion by an Ethiopian-Israeli performer who delighted the crowd with his talents.
All in all, the event was a great success and helped myisrael raise awareness and funds among a new audience. Massive thanks to Mimi for donating her time and especially to Emma Rosenblatt for so generously covering all the costs of the event.
So far more than £5,000 has been raised for myisrael projects and more money is still coming in. We are looking forward in anticipation to next year's event!
