Why these projects?

We have carefully chosen the projects that are available for you to support through myisrael.

We only consider projects which meet the basic criteria set by our board of trustees. These include having an annual budget of less than £350,000 and administration costs of around 15% - except in specific cases.  

We start the selection process by approving the objectives and operations of each project and by requesting some basic financial information. Once we have checked this information, we arrange a site visit and request some more detailed financial and organisational information. We build a good working relationship with the project founder/director throughout the process and for successful projects, the process ends with us working together to set an appropriate fundraising target for myisrael.

We aim to offer a variety of projects that work with different populations from children to the elderly, Ethiopian immigrants to the disabled and from soldiers to victims of abuse. These projects also work in different fields from education to sport therapy, from health to drugs rehabilitation, from alleviating hunger to providing a safe and loving home for populations at risk.  

It is also essential that we establish a relationship of mutual respect and trust with the project founder or director. This person is our main point of contact at each project and it is he/she who provides regular updates on the project's progress, needs and direction. Our project directors are also responsible for ensuring that the money we raise is spent in exactly the way it was intended.  

We have spent a lot of time with each project founder/director learning about and observing the projects they run. We have seen with our own eyes the way that their organisation operates, the care and support that it offers and the incredible impact that it has on those who benefit from it.
